Bars and busking

„If you’re here, it means you’ve probably caught me with my guitar busking on a street corner or playing a local bar. So, here’s the story:

My name is Jan Vytásek. I’m a singer and songwriter, and while you can find my full bio and history on my official website, this is about something different. I perform both solo and with my band, Jan Vytásek & Blackbirds (think Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers). But after years of leading bands, managing logistics, and negotiating everything from power plugs to parking spots, I needed to rediscover the raw energy of music.

I needed to strip it all back. No soundchecks, no mental clutter, no complex tech—just me, my guitar, and the songs. My booking agents probably wouldn’t like the idea of me playing dive bars or street corners, but for me, it’s a necessary challenge. Playing a busy street or a crowded bar keeps my confidence sharp and my music honest. That’s why I’m here, performing under my lifelong moniker ‚The Blackbird‘ in disguise. Just me, my acoustic guitar, and YOU.
